Susan Chapelle – Massage Therapist



Susan Chapelle has been a practicing therapist for over 18 years. She comes from Toronto where she graduated from Sutherland Chan College. Susan worked in the entertainment industry backstage for 15 years before deciding to become a massage therapist. This led her to treating people in the industry and opening a clinic that specialized in the quick assessment and treatment of performing artists. She has worked with the National Opera Company, the National Ballet, and the Toronto Symphony. Susan has worked with numerous theatrical company’s as a therapist, including Les Miserables, Cats, Showboat, Phantom of the Opera, Buddy Holly story and the Lion King, both in Toronto and in London’s West End.

This year, Susan accepted the award from the Massage Therapists Asscociaton of “BC RMT of the Year”. This is an award given out to a therapist who has significantly contributed to the profession. Susan has been working with palliative care patients for over 5 years, and recently embarked on a research study to deepen the understanding of how massage therapy effects post surgical complications in breast cancer patients. Susan’s protocol for treating post surgical scarring is receiving international accolades, she has published to international journals with evidence that massage does indeed work in measurable and scientific ways. Susan has spent time as an educator for therapists teaching at colleges for massage in London England, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Susan’s passion lies in working with hard to resolve problems. She has spent many years treating post surgical complications and working with cancer patients.

Susan was awarded the Squamish Chief Readers Choice Award for “Best Massage Therapist” in Squamish 2004/2006/2007 and 2010.

Susan enjoys living in Squamish for the outdoors. She is an avid climber, skier and mountain biker. Moving from Toronto has shifted her focus from performing artists to outdoor enthusiast. She knows how important it is to get on with tasks at hand and enjoys getting people back quickly into enjoying the outdoors.
